Common Canopy
A field of stacked beer crates forms a series of freestanding columns that expand into elevated canopies, creating a porous, cathedral-like space within the courtyard. The installation transforms a familiar, everyday object into a shared spatial experience, where individual units collectively produce a larger whole.
The vertical repetition establishes a rhythmic landscape that subtly guides movement while framing moments of gathering, rest, and performance. Visitors move between columns, pause beneath the canopies, and engage in a temporary environment shaped by collective presence.
Referencing the spatial qualities of sacred architecture, the project reinterprets assembly as an open and evolving act rather than a fixed form.
Constructed from modular, reusable elements, the installation is designed for disassembly and reconfiguration, embedding circularity as both a material and social framework.
